. Development of New Wires and Cables
The various kinds of wires and cables are required in large quantity for Chinese projects such as construction, energy source, transportation, petroleum and chemical and metallurgy. During recent 10 years, a lot of new wires and cables have being developed by the Chinese cable manufacturers who are well equipped with modern technology and facilities. The wires and cables have been put into production in large scale because of good market prospects.
1. Cables for Nuclear Station
By the end of last century, since the percentage of nuclear power was only 0.7 of overall power generation in China, the development of nuclear power is the only way. According to previous estimation, the number of 1000MW nuclear power generation system will be 27 before 2020, but the total number of 1000MW nuclear power generation system has increased to 40. The rate of nuclear power will go up from 1.8% to 4%. The China Nuclear Industry Group hopes that the average rate of domestic equipment will reach to 60%. At present, all K3 1E class cables can be made by domestic manufacturers absolutely and K1 1E class cables have been developed successfully for further evaluation in all respects. The cables for reactor region are being developed. In future, the percentage of domestic-made cables for nuclear power station will be up to 95% and subsequently the percentage of 1E class cables made in China will be up to 100% in 2010. It is necessary to point out that the preparation of 1E class cable standard is the most important measures for the purpose of 100% domestic-made. Especially the general rule of cable standard is an important part because it not only refers to the safety, reliability and advantage of product series, but also it is one of documentation for the final confirmation by designer and end-user. Otherwise the goal of 100% domestic-made will be limited to a certain extent.
