Demand over supply", long time no see!
In the past years, a principal feature in the optical fiber and optical cable market was that the supply exceeds the demand. In company with it was the fierce market competition, rapid fall of product price, low profit of producer and survival crisis of many enterprises.
In the downturn of market, some enterprises stopped production, changed the line of production or were sold at low prices, while most persisted in for the market spring.
The long-lost spring seems really coming back. Since the end of last year, the domestic optical fiber and cable market has seen a rise. Some optical cable producers have received orders in succession and the trend of short supply has appeared in the market. “Since the beginning of this year, our machines have worked round the clock. Up to present, there is no stock left and hundreds of thousands of kilometers products need to deliver." Said Shen Yichun, the general manager of Zhongtian Technologies Fiber Optics Co., Ltd. (ZFOC).
Besides the "supply falling short of demand" and increasing production press experienced by some optical fiber producers such as Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company Ltd. (YOFC) and ZFOC Science and Technology, some principal optical cable producers also feel the stress. On the one hand, the pressure to deliver goods to operators on schedule increases and on the other hand, optical fiber supply has become an inevitable issue. "Nowadays it is very tight in optical fiber supply, I have to ask for a favor from optical fiber producers to buy as much as possible", the general manager of an optical cable producer told the reporter. It is reported that the tight market not only occurs in China but also in Japan, Europe and America. Those world big optical fiber manufacturers like Japan’s Fujikura Ltd. and Sumito, American Corning are all faced with such supply pressure.
What makes the "fibers" on sale become hot ones?
Intense market competition ever led to the very low transaction price of fibers, so some manufacturers sighed that optical fiber was poorer than noodles, yet time passes and the situation has changed. What makes the bargain become best seller?
